Most of the time, nice photos are sharp, well defined, and possibly refocused with the help of Photoshop. Not these shots. Looking at them, the eyes wander without finding the right perspective: so that the viewer is in some way forced to explore all the details of the photo, rather than to follow a predetermined path.
The absence of a focus plane, of a preferential direction, allows a disarming freedom. We are so accustomed to be guided in our interpretation of the reality, that these pictures unveil our fear for the unknown.These are not comfortable shots. As it is never comfortable to be left alone with the responsibility of our choices. Still the beauty is there, we have just to choose how to look at her.
